Dexter McKinney II

Dexter McKinney is always grateful to return home and serve his community. He grew up on the Southside of Syracuse, played football and baseball for big Kirk Park, graduated from Nottingham HS and Syracuse University with a bachelor’s and 2 Master’s Degrees. Dexter started traveling in college with his first major trip being the study abroad program in Madrid, Spain.

Dexter worked a variety of jobs after college including IT at Nike World HeadQuarters, before switching to politics working for Congress in DC, and then returning home to work for the Onondaga County Executive Joanne Mahoney.

Dexter is elated that he followed his mother’s advice to pursue his acting dream, as he recently made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award Winner Skeleton Crew directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. He was in Emmy Award winning sensations “When They See Us” & “Mrs. America” and also has television credits alongside Kelsey Grammer and Joshua Jackson in “Doctor Death” as well as Aldis Hodge in “City On A Hill”.

Beyond his stage and screen work, Dexter is a Teaching Artist, Stock Options Trader, Content Creator, and does diversity & inclusion work around the country for companies like Microsoft, Visa and Goldman & Sachs to name a few.
