Kelly Copes-Anderson is an accomplished global business executive with significant experience in developing brand strategy, marketing execution, data analytics, commercial operations. Kelly is currently Associate Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) for Lilly worldwide. In this role, Kelly is responsible for globally advancing Lilly DEI outcomes, strengthening DEI capabilities across the enterprises, improving reputation, and driving innovation and growth for future success.
Kelly has worked at Lilly for nearly 25 years, primarily in the commercial organization, and has held a variety of positions across the company including recent roles as Global Brand Leader in Breast Cancer, US Commercial Leader in Breast Cancer, Sr. Director Oncology Insights and Data Analytics. Kelly has been recognized for her ability to effectively lead diverse global teams, launch new products, deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges, drive change, and consistently exceed business results. She is also known for mentoring and sponsorship of a range of professionals, with focus on young black female talent.
Kelly received her BS in Chemical Engineering at Michigan State becoming a first-generation college graduate in her family. She also earned her MBA from Indiana University followed by the recent certification from the Harvard Business Analytics program in September 2020.
Kelly was born and raised in Auburn NY until she was 14 when her family relocated to Clay NY. She now resides in Carmel, IN, married to her husband of 25 years, Arvie Anderson and they have two boys Brenton (23) and Bryce (18). Outside of Lilly, she also serves as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Indiana as well as a former board member and long-term supporter of Easter Seals Crossroads. Kelly personally loves to travel, read and is an enthusiastic hot yoga practitioner and teacher.
